Renewable Energy

The planet is in critical condition. By the end of this century, global warming will reach 2.7 °C. This value is far above the national CO2 emission pledge targets made before COP26 in the Paris Agreement. According to Swiss Re.2, this warming trajectory will cut the total value of the global economy by 10% by 2050.These extreme temperature increases pose a threat to the survival of all living things. In addition to the catastrophic impacts on the environment – such as depletion of natural resources, drought, severe climate change and extreme weather events – failure to address these threats will increase health and social disparities and push millions into extreme poverty. It will also weaken the country’s resilience to future economic shocks.Indonesia itself needs to improve. In March 2023, the number of poor people in Indonesia reached 25.90 million people or 9.36 percent of the total population. The majority of the poor live in village areas (12.22 percent) who have limited access to infrastructure, education, health and employment. World Population Review 2024 has released a list of the poorest countries in the world in 2024. Indonesia is included in the 100 poorest countries in the world according to the World Population Review 2024. One can imagine the shock that will occur if the root causes of environmental problems are not immediately addressed.Meanwhile, the economy can only grow sustainably if it is able to manage environmental degradation and overcome climate change. Also, technology, economy, access, and infrastructure readiness are the main challenges in welcoming the energy transition era in addressing climate change. To that end, the Government needs to enrich policy interventions and financing measures to support the transformation of energy and industrial systems, increase energy efficiency, address environmental pollution, and protect and replenish natural capital. It is important for governments to accelerate the green transition. However, this requires long-term commitment, increased investment, continuous innovation, and collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, NGOs, and civil society. This is where IndoStrategi works. With the strength of our network in partnership with relevant ministries and institutions, including the trust of the private sector, educational institutions and the community in our team’s work, we facilitate data-based interventions for the process of human and economic survival without neglecting our need to recreate a healthy environment and realize sustainable environmental sustainability.
